Today we decided to take a walking tour of the island. We headed out towards the Orica, the village we went to on our canoe trip. We followed the main path and eventually ended up in the pueblo Orica. We chatted with two men and they told us an Aviary that was near by. One man told us he would take us there. We walked through the town and down some paths and ended up at the aviary. This aviary was the same one we visited the day we went on the snorkeling tour. We thought the aviary was on an entirely different island!
We walked about three hours and made it back in time for lunch and a short siesta.
Robinson showed up at 2:00 for his English lesson. We asked him about going to school today and he told us that he told his teachers that he wouldn't be in school because he was having an "English Lesson." Charlie worked with him on a presentation that he could give to perspective people for his canoe tour. Then they practiced what he could say to possible tourists in English. He was happy with the resulting tour rap.
Around 3:00 Manuel and Ana Rosa joined us for an English lesson. Ana Rosa couldn't stay because tourists had come in and she needed to take care of settling them into their cabana. Charlie worked with Manuel on what he could say to people when showing them around Las Palmeras. They practiced his tour of Las Palmeras in English. Jane worked with Robinson on numbers and reading his presentation in English. At 4:30 we stopped.
We headed to the beach and took a very refreshing swim. As you can see the beach was a little crowded but we managed to find a place to swim!!
At dinner time we talked with the new guests from Norway. The family with two boys had arrived with a Colombian tour guide who also stayed in one of the cabanas.
