We spent the morning at the beach where Jane bargained for some necklaces. It started out as a good deal but as were got ready to leave the beach we were charged for sitting in the hotels beach chairs. We realized that the guy watching the chairs for the hotel was working with the vendor and they split the $20,000 that it cost for the chairs. The vendor made his money and the hotel person made his.
After lunch we took as siesta. It is really hot here and during the afternoon it is better to rest out of the sun.
Around 4:00 we took a canoe tour with Robinson an 18 year old who is leasrning to be a tour guide. He took us through some really cool mangroves. There were narrow channels cut out of the mangroves that we followed from one lagoon to another. We ended up parking the canoe in the middle of the island and walking into the small village where he lived.
After we left his village we walked back to where we are staying. It was a walking tour of this section of the island. Before Robinson left he asked if he could return tomorrow for an English lesson.
We had spaghetti for supper, which was wonderful. So far we had fried fish for lunch and chicken for supper and were getting tired of this meal.
In bed by 8:00.
