Arrived in Bogota

We've landed in Bogota. On the plane, we met a woman who lives in Bogota. She filled us in on what to do or not to do while in Bogota. She gave us her phone number and told us she would arrange a taxi and tour guide or help us if we got into trouble. Good conversation.

After our $25,000 COP taxi ride at 90 miles an hour from the airport, we arrived at Platypus Hostel, where we are staying while in Bogota. We checked in and were told that our room was in another building down the street. We then walked to the building and were taken to our room. It seemed nice, it had three beds (one double & two twins) and a private bathroom. Great! Only one problem, no electricity. We helped the man with trying the fuses and switches and managed to shut all the lights off in the hostel. After a few phone conversations, we went back to where we checked in and they told us that we would spend the night here and move back tomorrow when they fixed the electricity.

Our tiny, new room (6x12) consists of a 3/4 size double bed and a set of shelves to put our clothes on. And by the way no bathroom in our room. We have to share the one in the hall with the other guests. The good news is the shower has hot water!!
